TWO DIVISIONS. ONE CONTINUOUS CONVERSATION.

Recognition with
room for possibility.

“I AM IFs” brings identity and possibility into the same phrase. Music gives a voice to who we are, while opening space for what we could become.

The AM/IF Awards give those two impulses a shared stage. They recognize influential work already shaping culture, and the independent and emerging voices expanding its horizons.

THE HONOUR, GIVEN FORM

A moment.
A mark.
A possibility.

The fluid AMIF letterforms become a sculptural object. Light catches its silver surfaces, shifting with each angle: a lasting reminder of an evening celebrating music and the people behind it.

At the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the 2025 ceremony brought artists and industry voices together in recognition of work that connects cultures and opens new possibilities.

For one evening, this meeting of old and new became a setting for recognizing established artistry and emerging possibility. Music, conversation and recognition unfolded within the museum itself.

AFTER THE CEREMONY

Guests also had evening access to a special exhibition, extending the programme beyond the ceremony into encounters with art.

THE 2025 AWARD PROCESS

How the 2025 process worked

The published process began with entries, followed by nomination and final voting. Voting members working in the creative and technical sides of recording selected the finalists and recipients. The framework below documents the 2025 edition; applications and voting for that edition have closed.

Eligibility

Eligible works were required to be created by Asian artists or artists of Asian heritage

For groups/ensembles, at least 50% of the core members were required to be Asian heritage

For collaborations (Asian + non-Asian), the work was eligible if the primary credited artist is Asian or Asian heritage

Role-Based Categories (Producer, Instrumentalist, etc)

1. For categories such as Best Production, Best Indie Producer, Best Instrumentalist. The individual nominee were required to be Asian heritage

2. Works produced for or performed with non-Asian artists remained eligible if the nominee’s contribution is clearly credited

Release and Activity Requirements

A.Creative Work Categories

For awards recognizing works (Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Indie Album, Indie Song, Best Production,
